How do I book a rental?

Browse the site and pick your dress — we stock sizes 4 to 22, with sizing details on each product page. Use the calendar to choose your delivery date; we don't deliver on weekends, so select a weekday ahead of a weekend event. Orders placed before 1pm can be delivered within 48 hours, or you can book up to 3 months in advance.

Which dates should I select?

Please select your rental start date as the day before your event as this allows for any courier delays or taking into account that the dress will likely arrive between 9am - 5pm.

If collecting, please ensure you are able to collect between 10am - 5pm on the first day of your rental.

Pricing

Every rental price includes snag-and-spill insurance, dry-cleaning, and packaging. Shipping is calculated at checkout.

Can I reserve an item without paying?

No. Bookings are first come, first served — payment in full is what secures the item. Until then, it's available to anyone.

How long do I get to keep my rental?

Our standard rental period is 4 days; we suggest booking delivery for 2 days before your event. Need it longer? A 2-week rental option is also available — message us on WhatsApp (079 393 4213) to arrange this.

How does delivery and collection work?

We deliver and collect nationwide. Your item will be collected from the same address at the end of your rental period, with collections between 12pm and 5pm.

Shipping

If you order your rental ahead of time (more than 2-4 Business days) please select the Standard Shipping option.

If you need the dress for next day, please select SRExpress Delivery.

If you are based around Cape Town, you can select Pickup option at checkout which enables you to collect and return the item from our distribution centre.

What if I don't end up wearing the dress?

Once an item has shipped or been collected, we're unable to offer a refund or credit if your event is cancelled or you change your mind. Every item is professionally cleaned on return, whether worn or not — see our Cancellation Policy for the full cancellation timeline.

How do I return my item?

We pre-book your courier collection. Repack the item in the box, garment bag, and hanger it arrived in, attach the printed return waybill, and make sure you're contactable and the parcel is ready any time on your final rental day.

What if my rental doesn't fit?

Let us know within 4 hours of delivery via WhatsApp (079 393 4213). If reported in time and returned unworn with tags attached, you'll receive a gift card to the rental value, minus delivery and cleaning fees.

What happens if I return my rental late?

Late returns incur a fee of R100 per day after 1pm on your return date.

What if the item is damaged or lost while I have it?

Each rental includes snag-and-spill insurance, covering things like a lost button, broken strap, or minor spill. If an item is damaged beyond repair, needs specialised cleaning, or is lost, let us know immediately at cole@stylerotate.com — an additional cleaning or replacement fee will apply, up to the full market value of the item. Style Rotate — Terms & Conditions

Please read carefully.

These Terms and Conditions apply whenever you hire clothing from Style Rotate Proprietary Limited (registration number 2019/455212/07) ("Style Rotate", "we", "us", or "our") via our website, Instagram, or any direct booking channel.

By placing an order, ticking acceptance, or hiring any item, you confirm that you have read and agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Definitions

In these Terms:

Administration Fee means the fee charged where Late Fees, Replacement Fees, cancellations, exchanges, or fit returns apply.

Clothing means any garment or accessory hired from Style Rotate.

Hire means the rental of Clothing from us.

Hire Cost means the rental fee shown at checkout or agreed in writing.

Hire Period means the rental dates selected at booking.

Late Fee means R50 per day after 13:00 on the rental end date.

Lender means a third-party individual or business who supplies Clothing for Hire via the Website.

Replacement Fee means the retail value of the item (as reasonably determined by us) where Clothing is lost, not returned, materially damaged, or altered.

User / you means the person placing the order.

Website means stylerotate.com and associated sales channels.

2. Payment

2.1 Payment is processed via approved gateways including PayGate, Yoco, and Stitch.

2.2 All transactions are in South African Rand (ZAR).

2.3 By placing an order, you authorise us to charge your selected payment method for:

Late Fees

Replacement Fees

Administration Fees

any other amounts due under these Terms.

2.4 Card details are processed securely by our payment providers and are not stored on our website.

3. Orders & Availability

3.1 All bookings are subject to availability.

3.2 We do not guarantee that listed items will always be available.

3.3 If we cannot fulfil your booking, we will refund any Hire Cost paid.

4. Your Responsibilities

You agree to:

treat the Clothing with the highest level of care;

not alter the Clothing in any way without written consent;

inspect the item immediately upon delivery;

notify us within 12 hours of delivery of any defect or sizing issue, on the same day the item is delivered;

return the Clothing on time and in the same condition.

If you hire for commercial use, you are responsible for obtaining any required designer permissions.

5. Damage, Loss & Late Returns

5.1 Late returns incur a Late Fee of R50 per day after 13:00 on the return date.

5.2 We may charge the Replacement Fee if an item:

is not returned within 5 calendar days after the Hire Period;

is materially damaged;

is permanently stained;

is altered; or

is lost.

5.3 Administration Fees may be charged where additional handling or recovery is required.

5.4 If Replacement Fees are paid in full, ownership of the item passes to you on a voetstoots basis.

6. Lender-Owned Items

6.1 Some Clothing listed on the Website is supplied by Lenders rather than owned directly by Style Rotate.

6.2 All Clothing, whether owned by Style Rotate or supplied by a Lender, is subject to the same Terms set out in these Terms, including but not limited to Sections 4 (Your Responsibilities), 5 (Damage, Loss & Late Returns), and 8 (Fit Issues).

6.3 You acknowledge that Style Rotate acts as an intermediary between you and any Lender, and that your obligations regarding care, return, damage, and loss of the Clothing apply equally regardless of ownership.

6.4 Any Replacement Fee, Late Fee, or Administration Fee charged in relation to a Lender-owned item is payable to Style Rotate, who will settle separately with the relevant Lender in accordance with our Lender Agreement. You will not be required to deal directly with any Lender.

6.5 Style Rotate is not liable for any pre-existing condition, manufacturing defect, or quality issue in Lender-owned Clothing that was not reasonably known to us at the time of listing, save that we will use reasonable efforts to quality-check all items before they are made available for Hire.

7. Delivery

7.1 Nationwide shipping is offered across South Africa.

Estimated delivery:

Main centres: 2–3 business days

Outlying areas: 2–4 business days

7.2 Orders before 13:00 dispatch same business day; after 13:00 dispatch next business day.

7.3 You are responsible for providing an accurate delivery address and being available to receive and return the parcel.

7.4 We are not liable for courier delays outside our control.

7.5 If delivery fails due to our proven fault, we will at our discretion:

extend the Hire Period; or

partially refund; or

cancel and refund the Hire.

8. Fit Issues (Wrong Size)

8.1 You must notify us within 12 hours of delivery, and on the same day the item is delivered, if an item does not fit, by WhatsApp to 079 393 4213 or email to cole@stylerotate.com.

8.2 If reported within this window and the item is returned unworn with tags attached, you will receive store credit equal to the full Hire Cost.

8.3 This Fit Guarantee does not apply to Try-On orders.

8.4 Notifications made outside the 12-hour window, or not made on the same day the item is delivered, are not eligible for any refund or store credit.

9. Returns

9.1 You must be available for courier collection at the agreed time and location.

9.2 Failure to hand over the parcel will result in Late Fees.

9.3 We do not accept returns via Uber Parcel or unapproved third-party services.

9.4 Items remain your responsibility until received by us.

9.5 We are not responsible for personal items left in garments.

10. Back-Up Dress Offer

10.1 Eligibility

The Back-Up Dress service allows you to add one (1) additional dress at a promotional rate, subject to:

both dresses being booked for the same dates;

the Back-Up item being from the eligible collection;

code BACKUP26 being applied at checkout;

availability at time of booking.

Not all dresses qualify.

10.2 Use

You may try on both dresses.

You may wear only one.

Security tags must remain attached to any unworn item.

10.3 If Both Dresses Are Worn

If tags are removed from both dresses or both are worn, we will charge the full rental fee for the Back-Up Dress in addition to any other applicable fees.

10.4 If Neither Dress Is Worn

If both items are returned unworn with tags attached:

the primary dress follows the standard Fit Policy (store credit where reported within the 12-hour window, per Section 8);

the Back-Up Dress promotional fee is non-refundable.

10.5 General

Only one Back-Up Dress per order.

No price difference refunds if you wear the Back-Up item.

We may withdraw or amend the offer at any time.

We reserve the right to cancel the benefit where abuse is suspected.

11. Cancellation Policy

10+ working days before rental start:

reschedule; or

gift card (valid 2 years); or

full refund (processing time applies).

Within 9 working days (before dispatch/collection):

reschedule; or

gift card;

no refunds.

After dispatch or collection:

no refund, reschedule, or credit.

12. At Home Try-Ons

12.1 Purpose

The At Home Try-On service allows you to trial a garment at home for fit and style purposes only, prior to placing a rental booking.

12.2 Use

Try-on garments may not be worn to events or outside the home. The security tag must remain attached at all times. Removal of the security tag will result in the full rental fee being charged.

12.3 Fees & Refunds

Try-on fees are non-refundable. No cash refunds will be issued under any circumstances. The Fit Guarantee in Section 8 does not apply to Try-On orders.

12.4 Discount Code

If you choose to proceed with a rental following your try-on, you will receive a unique discount code via email. To redeem:

Your booking must be placed within 7 days of your try-on date

The code must be used as emailed and cannot be exchanged for cash or used towards any other product

Valid on stylerotate.com only — not redeemable on any third-party platforms

12.5 Reservation

A try-on does not reserve the dress for your event. A separate booking and full payment is required to secure your dates.

13. Limitation of Liability

13.1 Clothing is hired at your own risk.

13.2 We make no warranties that items will appear exactly as on the Website.

13.3 To the maximum extent permitted by law, Style Rotate is not liable for indirect or consequential loss.

14. Force Majeure

We are not liable for failure to perform due to events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to weather, strikes, civil unrest, government action, load shedding, or delays, errors, or failures caused by third-party couriers engaged to manage delivery and collection of Clothing. Where a third-party courier fails to deliver or collect an item on time, or causes damage or loss in transit, our liability is limited to using reasonable efforts to resolve the issue with the courier, and we will not be liable for any resulting loss, damage, or inconvenience caused.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, and the parties submit to the jurisdiction of the South African courts.

16. Amendments

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

How do you know which dress I wore?

Each dress arrives with a security tag and instructions. Remove the tag from the dress you wear and leave tags attached to the unworn dress.

Can I wear both dresses?

No, the Back-Up Dress offer allows you to wear one dress only. However, if you love both and your weekend plans allow you to wear both, you are welcome to let us know and we will send you a payment link for the remaining amount due.

If both dresses are worn (tags removed), the full rental fee for the Back-Up Dress will be charged.

How long do I get to keep my rental for?

If both dresses are returned unworn (tags attached), you will receive:

A) Store Credit for both, minus delivery and cleaning fees.

B)Refund to your original payment method, minus delivery and cleaning fees.

What if I end up wearing the Back-Up Dress instead?

No problem- simply wear the one you love.
Pricing remains as booked and no price difference refunds apply.

Can I add more than one Back-Up Dress?

The Back-Up Dress offer is limited to one additional dress per order.

Why won't the discount apply?

The Backup Dress promo code won't apply, in any of these scenarios:

  • The item(s) aren't eligible for the Backup Dress offer
  • The items are eligible and can be paired together for the offer, but you have chosen a different Delivery Date for each item. The Delivery Date selected for the two items must be exactly the same.

Can I select the same dress but in a different size?

Yes, of course! As long as both sizes are booked from the Back-Up Dress Collection, and both sizes are available for your dates.

Is the Backup Dress fee refundable/creditable?

The Backup Dress fee isnot refundable or creditable.

Can I get refunded or credited the difference if I end up wearing the Backup Dress, which is cheaper to hire than my first choice?

Unfortunately we cannot refund or credit the difference in hire fee between the two. Even though you may not have worn the more expensive of the two, it has still been sent to you, meaning the opportunity for someone else to rent it at the normal hire fee has been taken away.

What if neither item fits me/is suitable?

If the terms of your order say that you can return the item due to an issue with fit, then in this instance, you would post back both items within 24 hours. You would get a credit note as described in the terms for the item you paid the normal rental fee for.

The fee paid for the Backup Dress (the cheaper of the two, with 50% applied) is not creditable or refundable.

What if my dress doesn't fit?

The Reason for the backup dress is that you get 2 dresses to try and one will be your perfect fit. In the event that your rental is shipped to you and both dresses do not fit, please let us know within 12 hours of delivery by sending a WhatsApp to 079 393 4213 or emailing cole@stylerotate.com. If you notify us within this window, we'll issue store credit to the value of your rental. This guarantee does not apply to Try-On orders, and no refund or store credit will be given if we're not notified on the same day the item is delivered.
